5 Small Habits That Are Slowly Changing My Life
Hey everyone, it’s Sameer — welcome back to The Daily Edit! Since yesterday’s post was an introduction, I thought today I’d jump into something more real and personal: small habits that are actually making a difference in my daily life.
These aren’t huge life overhauls. Just small edits I’ve made that are helping me feel more balanced, focused, and at peace. Maybe they’ll help you too.
1. Making My Bed First Thing
It sounds silly, but making my bed gives me a small win first thing in the morning. It creates a sense of order and sets the tone for the rest of my day.
2. Drinking Water Before Coffee
This one’s tough, but powerful. I’ve started drinking a glass of water right after waking up, before I even touch my phone or make coffee. It wakes me up naturally and helps with focus.
3. 10 Minutes of Quiet
Every day, I take 10 minutes to sit quietly — no phone, no music, no scrolling. I just breathe, reflect, or even do nothing. It’s helped me feel calmer and more in control of my emotions.
4. Digital Decluttering
I’ve started deleting apps I don’t use, turning off notifications, and organizing my phone like my mind depends on it (because it kinda does). Less screen clutter = more mental space.
5. Writing a “Done” List Instead of a To-Do List
At the end of the day, I write down everything I actually did — even the small things. It reminds me that I’m making progress, even on slow days.
These small habits didn’t magically change my life overnight, but they are shaping who I’m becoming — little by little, one day at a time. That’s what The Daily Edit is all about.
If any of these habits speak to you, try them out. And if you’ve got habits that are helping you right now, I’d love to hear them in the comments.
See you tomorrow for Day 3!
